Question: Why so reasonable?
Answer: This is a not-for-profit community club and none of the instructors
are paid for instructing. The entire focus is on excellence, and giving back
to the community of Hazel Grove and Stockport. The fees cover the cost of
the gym and the adminstration, licences, insurance etc. that's how the fees
are so low.
Question: So where does the money go?
Answer: Club fees go on renting the dojo and on fully insuring the
instructors.
Question: Are £10/hour clubs better?
Answer: Definitely not, here's the facts: Sensei
Robins is 5th Dan, Sensei Boothby is
4th Dan and Sensei Cookson is 1st Dan. Between
them, they have over 80 years of Karate experience and they run the club purely
for the love of Shotokan Karate. They focus on maintaining the highest traditions
of Shotokan, not on earning a living from it. All other instructors are at
least Dan grade and NOBODY makes any money out of it. Chasing profits can
distort the ultimate values and performance of a club. This just does not
happen at Jacksons Lane Karate Club so Here you will not be pressured into
grading before you are ready - guaranteed, some clubs will do this just to
take a grading fee off you.
Jacksons Lane will never be a rich club, but Shotokan is all the richer for clubs like Jacksons Lane Shotokan Karate.
